We have so many delicious offerings at both Union Square and Columbus Circle Holiday market this year, it’s impossible to play favorites. But there’s nothing that pull’s my heartstrings more than Bacon. It’s a torrid love affair, and we constantly bring in third parties to spice it up. Don’t be shocked, every carnivore knows that bacon goes with EVERYTHING. Bacon and eggs? How vanilla of you. Bacon and pineapple? Let’s go there.Bacon and arugula? Don’t tempt me. Bacon and chocolate? Yes please! Bacon and marshmallows? Don’t twist my arm!
My most recent bacon tryst was with Macaron Parlour’s Candied Bacon Macaron. Yea, that’s right. Wrap your head around that one. CANDIED. BACON. MACARON. WITH MAPLE CREAM CHEESE FROSTING NO LESS. How could those four things NOT be a love party in your mouth? The intense sweetness of the French style macaroon, the salty and sweet crunch of the tender candid bacon, the woodsy, smoky after taste- Oh, the humanity!
